Music Theory
Music theory is fun to talk about and there is so much interesting territory to cover. This section is going to be an attempt of making a map of that territory, at least as far as I understand it. Unravelling the mystery of music theory has been a puzzle I’ve played with for a long time now. My detective work will be documented here.
Basic Theory
This section of the site is for absolute beginners. It will assume you know absolutely nothing about nothing. If you are interested in getting your feet wet in music theory, you should start here. View lessons

This section will deal with non-tonal theories. I’ll be looking at more modern approaches to harmony and melody that go beyond the diatonic conventions of the tonal music discussed in the Intermediate section.
