New Orchestra piece to be performed

10 Aug

I just learned that my piece “Fitful Dreams” was selected for performance on September 29, 2010 at the Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans. I learned about this competition from a friend back in June and began to research the requirements immediately. They were looking for Louisiana Composers with unpublished works for chamber orchestra between 5-7 minutes in length. I had the Louisiana part down.

This left me all of two weeks to fulfill the rest of the requirements, which was to hurry up and write a large scale chamber orchestra work. As if two weeks wasn’t pushing it, that time frame included producing a professional score and a mock up recording. A little daunting, but this was too good of an opportunity just let go by. So I wrote and wrote and notated and recorded and re-wrote and on and on until it was time to put the package in the mail and hope for the best.

Well the best came to pass. I’m on the program and will not only get a live performance in my favorite city performed by members of the New Orleans Philharmonic, but will also get a professional recording of the performance and hopefully lots of new opportunities to write more concert music as a result.

As a guy who now writes entirely for sampled musicians, I can’t express how excited I am to hear my music performed by live musicians. I’ll be posting up the recording as soon as its available.

Bryan just completed twenty new pieces for Studio51

29 Jan

Studio51 is a new venture that I’m very excited to be a part of. They only work with a hand selected group of composers and I was lucky enough to be one of them. This is a brand new library that will launch later this year. I’m looking forward to contributing at least forty new pieces a year to this library.

Bryan is now a composer for Scorekeepers

29 Jan

I’m very happy to announce that I’m now a regular contributor to Scorekeepers Music Library. What I really like about these guys, besides their clout and placement opportunities ;) , is that they are interested in composers more so than individual pieces. I’m concentrating on aligning myself with companies that take on the attitude. It feels more like I’m on a team.

Welcome to BryanFusilier.com

06 Nov

Hi friends,

This site is a work in progress. I’ve got a lot of ideas about making this an exchange for ideas about learning, writing and recording music and am slowly figuring out how to pull it all off. So this place will be a bit barren for a while as I put all the pieces together and figure out the best way to set this site up. In the meantime, feel free to listen to some of my music.

If you have a blog, or wish to share information that pertains to the discussions I have setup, feel free to register and post. For now, I’m keeping the Guitar Playing and Music Theory (Beginner and Intermediate) sections closed to outside posts as they are closely tied together in a project that I’m trying to figure out how to present. Once I have the basics of that worked out and posted, I will open a new guitar playing section that will be wide open for interesting topics. In the meantime, I will have little to no time to work on the composition and orchestration sections. So if you have a blog or want to post topics, feel free to do so or contact me and I’ll create posts that link back to your blog. I will only accept posts that are genuinely educational and relevant to the topic at hand.

Bryan just signed 18 pieces with Audiosocket

09 May

I’m really happy to be able to contribute music to Audiosocket’s music library. They recently opened an office here in New Orleans to take advantage of Louisiana’s Film tax credits by featuring and pushing local musicians. They are a cool group of people, doing some very interesting things. I’m looking forward to working with them.

Bryan is a featured composer on Audiosparx.com

05 Apr

As part of my self-publishing strategy, I’m looking at very specific web sites that I can utilize to allow people to license my music for commercial projects. One of my favorites is Audiosparx.com. They have featured me on their website, in their newsletters and regularly promote my music throughout the various areas of the site. I really like the people behind this company and am having success utilizing their audience to license my music.

Come visit my Artist page there:
